Cellist Joel Osinga is a versatile and dynamic musician forging a distinctive path as a performer, collaborator, and artist. Currently based in Denver, Osinga’s career spans a wide range of musical experiences across pop, chamber, and orchestral music settings.
Pop
Osinga has appeared on stage with iconic artists, including The Beach Boys, Sydney James Harcourt from HAMILTON, and Bad Bunny on his North American Most Wanted tour. A prominent recording artist as part of the Philharmonic Orchestra Project and the Borealis String Ensemble, he has recorded with a variety of artists. Regardless of the project, Osinga brings both artistry and versatility to every performance, captivating audiences across genres and stages.
Chamber
A passionate musician for chamber music, he has been a prizewinner in the Lyric Chamber Competition and the American Virtuoso International Competition. As well, Osinga has performed as a featured artist at the Kent Blossom Chamber Music Festival and the New Music Festival hosted at Lynn University. He has premiered many new chamber music compositions, including Jeremy Jefferson’s Cello Sonata No. 1, to which Joel is dedicated.
Orchestral
His orchestral career has taken him across the world, including invitations to perform in Canada, Czechia and various parts of the United States. He currently holds a position with the Nu Deco Ensemble, Symphony of the Americas and the Venice Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, he has performed with renowned ensembles such as The Cleveland Orchestra, South Florida Symphony Orchestra, and Palm Beach Opera Orchestra.
